I appreciate all of you who have followed along on the journey of bringing Way of the Three-Year-Old Why into the world. I’ve gotten significant feedback from beta readers, and I’m doing another editing pass this week.
The feedback confirms that the story of Dan Roberts, his dilemma, and the guidance of the mysterious barista engages readers. It has also given me useful insights in making the book even better. I’m spending this week incorHe next time you see it, it may look about the same, but it may look completely different. In any case, I will seek your input as to which option you like best for the cover.
While you wait for the book, did you know you have a complete short story available from the same “universe”? It contains Easter eggs that astute readers will spot joining together the story with Way of the Three-Year-Old Why and even the second book in the Sparklight Chronicles (working title Real Speak). The download will ask you for your email address. Just use the same one you used to subscribe here, and it will not duplicate.
Speaking the series title: thanks to the awesome Alexandra Watkins, the series now has a name, mentioned above: The Sparklight Chronicles. I don’t know how many titles will wind up in the series, but all of them will have some aspect of helping readers determine or remember what’s most important to them. Oh, and all will have some tie to coffee.
Subscribers will see some special launch swag, so be sure you have gotten your name on that list. We’re still thinking end of September or early October for the release.
One beta reader said this: “I enjoyed the fresh way you communicated your key insights. I believe the unique manner you used will help the concepts stick in readers minds.” Another, himself a professional writer not given to saying things just to make me feel good, said, “What a magnificent story you wrote!” Again, thank you for coming along on this ride with me, and I trust you will find it worth your time and attention.
