TL;DR
I want to serve the community, so I will share more than what I have in the past.
Change happens. I share a video to help with that.
Regular feature: news.
I was a guest on a great podcast.
Medium Well is out.
The full meal
There are two sides to this post.
There is me serving my readers, which is about helping you to live your values and value your life, especially when it comes to expressing that.
And there is me honoring my own purpose.
The two happen to come together, but I recognize that they are two separate streams.
How does that affect this post? Glad you asked.
Regular readers know that I haven’t written much here the last few months. That’s mainly because a) I’m in the last weeks of my longtime full-time day job, and b) I’ve put my creative energy into writing books rather than speaking/consulting or writing posts.
In one way, that serves people. After all, it is leading to books. But many of you will never buy a book, and I still want to serve the people who have graciously shared their attention. I’ve noticed the last few weeks as I’ve written more often that you seem to continue to engage with the posts.
So I’m setting an intention. I won’t promise a post every week, but my intention is this: I will work on a post (not send, but work on) most days, intending to finish it up and send it out once a week. I will have to experiment to see what day works best, and it’s likely to change once I retire, but I’m aiming for once a week. I’m hoping that will serve those interested in what’s going through my head without overwhelming anybody’s email box.
And that leads me to what I want to share with you this week.
Change.
It’s not news that the only constant is change. But you may forget that. You may rail against it. I certainly do at times. It doesn’t matter; change still happens, with or without our cooperation.
Chances are, you face some sort of change, big or small. You may yearn for the way things used to be. A lot of us did that during the pandemic (and don’t get me started on whether it’s over). We wanted to wait it out so things could “get back to normal.” Well, friends, normal is just a setting on a dryer. The problem isn’t change. The problem is that, for some reason, we expect things to eventually stop changing.
I don’t know much about sports. All I know about basketball, for instance, is that every 30 seconds ten people jump up in the air. But I appreciate achievement in any setting, and recently I have really appreciated a message that has gone viral from Kara Lawson, the coach of Duke University’s women’s basketball team. Although I’m not into sports, I feel a connection because she played for one of the most legitimately admired people of the 20th Century, the legendary Coach Pat Summitt at the University of Tennessee, right down the road from me. Her short video, taken by a staff member as Coach Lawson talked to her team on the first day of practice, carries a deep message for us all. I commend it to you.
Yes. Things won’t get easier. But if you realize that and shift your focus, you will grow in your ability to handle hard.

Guest on podcast
Michael O’Brien is an amazing human. He was a guest on The Alignment Show last year.
I was honored to be on his podcast this week. It was a great conversation. You can find “The Kintsugi Podcast” in a bunch of places. If you’re interested, you can watch the whole conversation here. you can watch a quick snippet right here:
Medium Well is almost fully ‘out there’
I say “almost” because the channel that makes print copies available through everyone except Amazon is running behind. Ebooks of Medium Well: The Journey from Believing to Believing In have been available for a couple of weeks through my direct store, and on pre-order through all the retailers. Now, paperback and case-laminate hardcovers are available on Amazon, and will be soon through other outlets. All the places are linked from one convenient page. (If you, like me, prefer a “traditional hardcover” with a dust jacket, it will be available there soon through Barnes and Noble, for instance.)
Medium Well is a business parable that follows Skye Jackson as she learns to believe in herself and her abilities, guided by mentors who already believe in her. Lessons are shared through an accessible, memorable story including familiar characters from The Way of the Three-Year-Old Why.
Would you do readers and me a favor? Request your local library to order copies of both The Way of the Three-Year-Old Why and Medium Well: The Journey from Believing to Believing In. That will make them available to a wider world.
I hope King’s Chronicles supports you in your own journey. Share this post with somebody who could use the encouragement—it’s free!
Make sure you don’t miss an issue, and get in the community to benefit from exclusive offerings. We’ll see you next week!
